Palm Oil Supply Chain Game
The CoPalCam game explores how interactions between producers, mills, traders and retailers have ripple effect on environmental, social and economic outcomes under different policy and market scenarios.
Supply chains are extremely complex systems and interactions between companies in the supply chain often determine environmental, social and economic outcomes for all.
How we are using it
Although originally developed for the Cameroon context, we have found that CoPalCam is useful to work with local communities in other contexts as well. We have used it in Uganda to talk about palm oil supply chains, with sustainability practitioners in the Netherlands as well as to learn more about the context with conservationists. Through playing this supply chain game, we invite players to reflect on similarities and differences between the system described and the supply chain they operate in.
